The $750,000 APA National Team Championships!

Every August teams from across the United States, Canada and Japan converge on Las Vegas, Nevada to compete for bragging rights and their share of the prize money.

The APA 8-Ball and 9-Ball National Team Championships are held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino.  The National Team Championships, in combination with the APA National Singles Championships (held mid-spring) and the U.S. Amateur Championship (held late fall) annually pay out more than $1.5 Million in cash and prizes.


But that's not the only way to get to Vegas!

In addition to team play, APA membership entitles you the opportunity to compete in a host of Pre-registered Events as well! 

A $20 Entry Fee could mean Big Winnings in Vegas!


The culmination of the APA Singles Program is the APA National Singles Championships, held every April at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  This event consists of National Singles competitions for both 8-Ball & 9-Ball.

APA 8-Ball Classic

Qualifying Windows:
December 1st - June 15th (Season I National Qualifier - Fall)
June 16th - November 30th (Season II National Qualifier - Spring)



  • 4 -8 players per local tournament board.
  • Players must be on an active 8-Ball Team.
  • Players must have at least ten (10) match scores in their 8-Ball Record.
  • All Scores must have occurred within the last two (2) years
  • Local and National Tournaments are bracketed by Skill Level

Blue Tier

For Skill Levels 2 & 3

Yellow Tier

For Skill Level 4

Red Tier

For Skill Level 5

Purple Tier

For Skill Levels 6 & 7

The winner advances to the APA Amateur 8-Ball National Qualifier, the final step before advancing to the $200,000 Vegas Nationals and a chance at $15,000 first place.   Singles Qualifiers can be held at any Host Location.   We encourage players to play on a board - the easiest way to Vegas!


APA 9-Ball Shootout

Qualifying Window:
December 1st - November 30th (National Qualifier held in the Spring)
  • 4 - 8 players per local tournament board.
  • Players must be on an active 9-Ball Team.
  • Players must have at least ten (10) scores in their 9-Ball Record.
  • All Scores must have occurred within the last two (2) years
  • Local and National Tournaments are bracketed by Skill Level:

Green Tier

For Skill Levels 1,2& 3

White Tier

For Skill Levels 4 & 5

Black Tier

For Skill Levels 6 - 9

APA 8-Ball Doubles Open Championship

Held in August each year at the National Team Championships in Las Vegas.
Pre-Registration through your League Operator is required.   


Alternate Shot

  • One coach per team per game will be allowed
  • Any combination of male/female teams
  • Modified Single Elimination format
  • Maximum field is 256 entries (Size of board will be based on number of entries)
  • Each player must have at least 20 8-Ball scores
  • Must be on an active Summer Session APA roster in the 8-Ball Format
  • $100 Entry Fee per team
  • Combined Skill Level Limit is 10
  • 100% Payback of entry fees to the top 25% of the field

APA 9-Ball Doubles Open Championship

Held in August each year at the National Team Championships in Las Vegas.
Pre-Registration through your League Operator is required.

  • Combined Skill Level Limit is 10
  • 100% Payback of entry fees to the top 25% of the field

APA Jack & Jill 8-Ball Doubles Championship
 
Held in April each year with the National Singles Championships in Las Vegas.
Pre-Registration through your League Operator is required.   

  • Alternate Shot
  • One Coach per team per game will be allowed
  • Male/Female Teams only
  • Modified Single Elimination
  • Maximum field is 256 entries (Size of board will be based on number of entries)
  • Players CAN NOT be APA 8-Ball Classic or APA 9-Ball Shootout participants
  • Each player must have at least 20 8-Ball or 9-Ball scores.
  • Must be on an active spring session APA roster
  • $100 Entry Fee per team
  • Combined Skill Level Limit is 10
  • 100% Payback of entry fees to the top 25% of the field

APA Masters Championship

Held in August each year with the National Team Championships in Las Vegas.
Pre-Registration through your League Operator is required. 

  • 3-member Teams
  • A 4th player may be submitted with Entry Form
  • Teams may choose any three of the four team members to participate in each match
  • Any combination of male/female teams
  • Modified Single Elimination
  • Maximum field is 128 entries (size of board will be based on number of entries)
  • Must have at least 10 8-Ball or 9-Ball match scores. (Scores can not be a combination of both formats)
  • Must be on an active summer session APA roster
  • $150 Entry Fee per team
  • No Skill Level Limit
  • 100% Payback of entry fees to the top 25% of the field    

APA 8-Ball Wheelchair Challenge

Held in August with the National Team Championship in Las Vegas.
Pre-Rgistration through your League Operator is required.

  • Players Seeded By Skill Level
  • Modified Single Elimination
  • Each player must have at least 20 8-Ball match scores
  • Must be on an active summer session APA roster
  • 100% Payback of entry fees to the top 30% of the field


Through any of these programs APA members have the opportunity
to compete for a shot to play in Vegas.
It's just one more reason the APA is not only the Largest Amateur Pool League
